Summary/Abstract: In the internal and external context of the time, the reorganization of the Romanian military system of the United Nations Principalities is seen in close connection with the effective union of the two sister countries. The more important changes after the year 1859 had in view the military theories of the principal Western countries. For reasons and special political interests and also by virtue of the affective links the Romanians preferred the French specialists. The French officers of the Military Mission Lamy contributed during the reign of Prince Al. Cuza has the introduction of sophisticated regulations, the reorganization and the constitution of military bodies such as the Administration, the Intendancy, the General Staff, the sanitary service and those of the military workshops. During the reign of Prince Charles of Hohenzollern, the role of the French Mission was forfeited in favor of the German Prussian military system and its specialists
