Summary/Abstract: The presence and involvement of Carol I, first as a reigning prince and later as king, in the vicinity of Vaslui are closely related to his estate of Zorleni - Slobozia, the donation made to the hospital of Bālad and Organization of military maneuvers at Bālad and Vaslui. On the occasion of the maneuvers, the Sovereign of Romania underlined the eroism and dedication of the inhabitants of the Vaslui - Bâlad region in the War of Independence and their contribution to the economic, military and cultural development of Romania.
