Summary/Abstract: The sporting activity in Sinaia and its surroundings began during the second half of the XIX-th century - these are walks in the mountains. The construction of the Palace of Peleş has given a great boost to the sports actions which receive in the course of time an organized character, an important role returning to the members of the royal family. Each year, except for the period of the First World War, Sinaia took place sports competitions as much during the winter as the summer. Similarly, a growing amplitude took the motorsports, Sinaia occupying an important place in motor racing, motorcycles and bicycles. The generous setting offered by the mountains of Bucegi has resulted in the development of mountain tourism
