Summary/Abstract: The article shows the ways in which the process of aesthetization of everyday life affects our perception of the human body in postmodern societies. The beauty of the body is no longer defined with reference to the objective aesthetic norms shared by all the members of the society, but it is rather defined individually. The body is shaped according to it, thus becoming an “aesthetic project”.
