Summary/Abstract: In the article the author’s reflections on how is the Russian Federation (1991) identityinfluenced Polish national security were presented. The process of disintegration of the Soviet Socialist Republics gave the beginning tonew powerful empire. The current international order became fully outdated. The beginning of the 90’s of the 20th century brought United States of America total domination over international affairs. Even though the newly set Russian Federation was the only heir of any laws after the fallen union. They had to stand up for the consequences of new world order and a domestic crisis. While working on reconstructing the country, Russia began redefining their own identity. In spite of a significant weakness of the state, the Kremlin government didn’t abandon dominance in the region, but with time started demonstrating aspiration of returning to be the major role player not only on the European continent but also in the arena of international, global affairs.
