Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article: An attempt to characterize a physician-patient relationship with respect to the theoretical models of this relationship in the context of medical dehumanization. Type of research methodology / research approach used: analysis of subject literature. Main results of the studies / analyzes: Selected theoretical models of the physician-patient relationship were presented in the article. Attempts have been made to identify the components of these models in the current relationship between the physician and the patient. Attention has been paid to the dehumanization of medicine as a negative consequence of modern patient care. The lack of ability to communicate with the patient and the need to organize collaborative training and patient relationship development were discussed. Practical implications: the introduction of training for all physicians in communicating with patients. Social implications: giving the patient enough time during a medical visit.
