Summary/Abstract: Intensive work on the reconstruction of secondary education in Częstochowa commenced in the early months of 1945. During the period 1945–1947 secondary schools were working actually on the basis of pre-war programs, from which all the elements foreign to the new system had been removed. In private secondary schools in Częstochowa were implemented programs compulsory in the public schools. There were also used the same principles of recruitment and classification of students. Mostly, there was available qualified teaching staff. It happened only in few cases that teachers were not questioned the required qualification. Although, there were some weaknesses in the functioning of these institutions, it seems that they resulted from the difficult working conditions in the first years after the end of World War II.
