Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on the significance of information services provided in libraries belonging to educational and scientific research institutions, primarily universities, which play a significant role both in education process and the overall quality of studies. It also highlights the importance of librarian’s personal contribution, as well as their relation towards their profession, and the essentiality of professional associations and communication both with all user groups and between librarians themselves. The paper outlines the examples of reference services provided by the Sarajevo Faculty of Law library, the results of the Users satisfaction survey, conducted on a sample of 300 most frequent users of the library, and the results of cooperation between the members of the South East European Association of Law and related Libraries. The quality of these services, which was confirmed by the survey as well, contributes to the popularisation of libraries in general.
