Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to present the innovative, participatory model of life-long education as a response to the civilisation progress, labour market dynamics as well as the ongoing process of ageing of the population, which force to undertake measures ensuring the maximum adjustment to the emerging challenges. Taking into account the aforementioned aspects one should pay attention to the essence of the process of long-life learning, the necessity to develop continuously, to extend one’s knowledge, to continuously acquire new skills and, consequently, qualifications for which there is demand in the market. The most often at present applied solution in the area of continuing education is enlarging cooperation with employers (consultation, programme councils, curricula evaluations) in order to adjust educational services to the labour market needs. However, it often means a rigid, centrally prepared educational offer. This solution does not take into account the point of view and needs of the education process participant, adjustment of the offer to their needs and desired competences. The measure necessary for enlarging the possibilities to develop one’s own professional and developmental potential of clients of the long-life education programmes is a change of the model of continuing education to a more flexible, more participative and better organised than it takes place so far, starting already at the stage of entering into cooperation between the university and the recipient of its educational services. The article is of the practical dimension. There was used in it the case study on which basis there was developed a set of recommendations for implementation of innovative models of life-long education for institutions of the education services sector.
