Summary/Abstract: In the world today, we often have to determine the factors which influence on the consumer behaviour. Considering the transportation behaviour, it is important to specify preferences of inhabitants of a given area in the field of characteristics of public transport. The most important features that affect the choice of public transport include the duration of the trip, the frequency and punctuality of public transport. The aim of this paper is to show the possibility of using the factor analysis as a method to study the interactions between variables, detection of hidden relationships between them. Using the factor analysis there is possibility to check some general, hidden factors determining the respondents' attitudes to public transport.
