Cost-Effectiveness of the Environmental Policy – Costs Identification

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to identify the costs of environmental policy needed to the costeffectiveness analysis. A review of the literature in this area, and results of their own research were presented. It was found that in the literature there are two approaches: traditional – where the costs of environmental policies are defined as the sum of capital expenditures and operating costs, and extended – taking into account the external costs. There is also recognised the existence of the transaction costs related to the implementation and operation of environmental policy instruments.
