Socio-economic diversification of the service sector in Poland and in Germany

Summary/Abstract: In their article, the authors undertook an attempt to examine the socio-economic differentiation of the service sector on the example of Poland and Germany. They showed that though in all regions services have the crucial share in the pattern of employment in the national economy and in creating the gross value added, nevertheless there are occurring substantial arrays in the level of economic development between individual regions and for the service sector characteristic is a great differentiation in terms of employment and the generated gross value added. In Poland, the service sector has a considerably lower share in the entire national economy, both in employment and in creation of the gross value added than in Germany.
