Summary/Abstract: TOTAL EXPENDITURE ON EDUCATION has grown rapidly from year to year. In 1967, it amounted to 4,882 million dinars as compared with 10,084 million in 1971, an increase of more than twice over. Total expenditure on schools (schools of all levels, without preschool and extracurricular institutions) amounted in 1967 to 4,643 million dinars, as against 9,525 million in 1971, an increase of over 100 per cent. Expenditure on other educational institutions (preschool facilities, pupils* and student hostels and dormitories, workers’ and people’s universities and other educational establishment amounted in 1967 to 240 million and in 1971 to 559 million dinars.
