Summary/Abstract: In the MSSR, the 1950s are characterized by the emergence and development of factories for the tailoring of clothing, knitted wear, footwear etc. Their employees had the prerogative of saving time, raw materials and improving the quality of work. The development of the aesthetic taste of the population was possible thanks to the organization of fashion shows in public places, due to the periodical press in which the trends of fashion for each season were reflected and the mentioned useful tips for diferent silhouettes and destinations, etc. For this purpose, the magazines “Femeia Moldovei” (The Woman of Moldavia) and “Tinerimea Moldovei” (Youth of Moldavia) contained specialized rubrics. The information was coordinated with the specialists of Chisinau Fashion House. Throughout the evolution of the field, there are attached liners of clothing cut in the mentioned magazines and newspapers of the MSSR. During the 1950s, an increased interest appeared in clothing and footwear for children of school and pre-school age. Women’s clothing and accessories became more diversified. The factories producing textiles, processing leather, etc. played a major role in the development of the branch. As businesses competed in terms of products, the results of the light industry evolution were reflected in magazines.
