Summary/Abstract: On the 10th of April 2010 at Smolensk took place a plane crash in which President Lech Kaczynski died. For this reason in the Summer 2010 were held early Polish Presidential elections. While in the autumn elections were held for local government. This article consists of two parts. The first section discusses the major issues related to the election of the President of Poland that took place in Szczecin. The second part describes the most important events connected with the choice of representatives to local government in the above-mentioned city. Discussed included, inter alia, elections to the Szczecin City Council and Mayor of Szczecin. At the end describes the electoral preferences of the inhabitants of Szczecin.
