Summary/Abstract: The Keynesian economics assumes that the policy of macroeconomic stabilization strives to accomplish the triangle of goals, i.e. to achieve a fast and sustainable economic growth, maintain the labour market equilibrium and a stable value of money. The aim of the article is a theoretical and empirical analysis of the possibilities and scope of a simultaneous accomplishment of macroeconomic stabilization goals and an assessment of the effects ofapplying the monetary instruments in Poland. The paper consists of two parts. The first, theoreticalpart discusses the goals of macroeconomic stabilization and a hypothetical influence which the instruments of monetary policy exert on their implementation. The second partis an empirical analysis of the role of monetary instruments in the stabilization of Poland’s economy in the years 2000–2016.
