Labor Market in Northwestern Bulgaria - General Trends and Internal Disparities

Summary/Abstract: In this paper some general problems of the regional labor market in Northwestern Bulgaria are considered. The emphasis is placed, on the one hand, on the state of the relationship between supply and demand for labor, and, on the other hand, the spatial differentiation of employment and unemployment. The basic factors that limit the opportunities for job creation and alleviating the gross social consequences of high unemployment in municipalities within the region are also defined.
