Summary/Abstract: Ten years ago for the first time in the history of Lithuanian terminology the ordering of terminology was regulated by law – at the end of 2013 will be the 10th anniversary of the Law of Term Bank. The Term Bank of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter “the Term Bank”) created on the basis of this Law is already well known to society as a terminology source which can be freely accessed on the internet (http://terminai.vlkk.lt). The Term Bank provides terminology evaluated in respect of language and subject. First of all the Term Bank functions as a common system for state institutions which have terminology commissions. The creation of such a system on the basis of the above mentioned law and other related legal acts is co-ordinated by the State Commission of the Lithuanian Language. The article reviews the conception of the Term Bank, its legal basis, analyses its structure, content, statistics of queries, etc.
