Summary/Abstract: The study addresses the role of writing in the process of the revaluation, professionalization and academicism of contemporary traditional music having as research object the structure of genres in the repertoire of ”Folclor” folk orchestra during the late Soviet totalitarian ideology in the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (1967–1990). Highlighting the trend of permeation, dissolution and hybridization of oral tradition, the author treats the major implications of the written document in the process of forming the repertoire of new professional folk orchestras. The historical and cultural premises of score adoption in the artistic practice of urban fiddlers; the role of the musician schooled in the process of the attachment, recreation, interpretation, exploitation and dissemination of oral sources; the impact of writing on the evolution of neo-traditional music; the relationship of the tabulation phenomenon with the folklore movement and with the tendency to recover the national values in the context of communist politics of folk art control and censorship are analysed. Special emphasis is placed on the detailed drafting of the general picture of instrumental and vocal-instrumental genres in the repertoire of ”Folclor” professional folk orchestra kept in the library of scores and in the phonogram funds of the National Public Broadcasting State Company ”Teleradio-Moldova”. A special place is given to the delimitation and systematization of folk genres and species of communist ideology propaganda, exploited to order by a wide circle of authors: poets, singers, musicians, arrangers, songwriters, composers.
