Summary/Abstract: Changes in the contemporary world imply the need to seek the methods of adapting to new conditions. This process also involves a broadly understood cultural sector. Cultural institutions such as theatres increasingly need to meet the needs of demanding customers/audience and at the same time fulfil their mission by providing the highest- level services. It is therefore imperative to use methods that al-low for the achievement of these goals. One of them is the use of strategic benchmarking. The aim of the paper is to present the possibility of using benchmarking procedures by cultural institutions.
