Summary/Abstract: The study focuses on Bulgarian politics towards language immediately after the Soviet coup on September 9, 1944, that led to a communist regime in the country. The first part of the article demonstrates the process of imposing the communist language as official lan-guage of the state – the terror on journalists and men of letters, the confiscation of print-ing houses, the reform of spelling. The second part of the article analyzes the basic struc-tural features of communist language. A document concerning agitation, issued by Agenda and Propaganda Department of the Communist Party, serves as a case study of public discourse of communism, its polemical overtones, as well as its specific criterion of good and evil.
