Factors Affecting the Safety of Nautical Tourism on the Example of West Pomeranian Province

Summary/Abstract: The paper applies to the safety of practicing nautical tourism. Authors assumed that the security of water area influence attractiveness and popularity of the area with tourists. The article presents a proposal of classification of factors affecting the safety of navigation on the water body. Chosen of them were described. Also rescues system in the West Pomeranian province was presented. In the paper there were analyzed the causes of accidents involving yachts that took place in 2010– 2015 in the waters of the West Pomeranian. The presented data showed that the most common reasons of accidents were technical failures of yachts and human errors.
