Eforie to Support the Bulgarian Monastery "St. George Zograf” at the Holy Mountain (Mount Athos)

Summary/Abstract: For centuries the Zografou Monastery on Mount Athos received many donations of movable and immovable properties. Due to historical and economic causes these donations are no longer in its possession. In modern times the management of the monastery property on Bulgarian territory is associated with the activity of Eforie "Zograf, which is a legal entity with its own power and control. The government needs to be seriously engaged for thepreservation of this Bulgarian sactuary - both through legislative changes and through sound financial backing. Zografou Monastery on Mount Athos is a repository of manuscripts, books and works of Christian art, a center of worship. It is the center, which over the centuries has created and stored monuments of Bulgarian history and culture, a source of Bulgarian national consciousness.
