Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the national language of Croats in western Herzegovina, the beauty of the centuries–old folk expression. Language is the same as the people and understood the extraordinary connections Herzegovinan peoples with their Croatian language. Croats from Herzegovina went to the world, but carried with them their language as the firmest bond with their homeland. Franciscans are those who have made an immeasurable contribution to literacy and the preservation and development of their mother tongue. They watch over his people in all his necessities of life; just as it was in the cultural and linguistic developments. Thanks to this fact the Herzegovinian Croats have a big stake in the cultural and linguistic history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, too.
