RISK FACTORS FOR NATIONAL SECURITY – TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS AND ORGANIZED CRIME

Summary/Abstract: The last decade has been increasingly highlighted by the link between terrorist organizations and organized criminal groups manifested through a mutual association of specific activities and a permanent exchange between the two manifestations of crime resources, means and opportunities. This symbiosis emerged primarily because terrorist organizations are increasingly less supported by some states or concerned social groups and they were forced to seek their own sources to purchase necessary technical equipment and weapons and also for ensuring certain sums for carrying ouţ specific activities.
