Summary/Abstract: Novi Pazar is a municipality that is located in the southwest of Serbia. It is one of the municipalities that are characterized by heterogeneous ethnic composition of the population. The ethnic picture of municipality Novi Pazar has significantly changed in the second half of XX century (1948–2002), primarily as a result of differentiated natural growth and migrations by nationalities, but the change also includes numerous other non-demographic factors. This paper will make a small coutribution by a theoretical and practical analysis of both ethnodemographical development of municipality Novi Pazar and quantitative relation between the most significant ethnic communities, including their contemporary geographical dispersion and concentration.
