Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the conclusions from verification of job offer advertisementsfor journalists and editors, published in 2016. The main expectations of employersinclude experience as an editor, specified as a requirement in 72 percent of the analysedadvertisements. Candidates replying to the offers of the media market should also know foreign languages (45 percent), have computer skills and be able to use Internet tools (44 percent), and be educated to a degree level or to a secondary school level (30 percent). Most publishers want to acquire individuals with vast knowledge, excellent communication skillsand engaged in their jobs. Availability combined with engagement, creativity and resistance to stress may make finding a job in the profession, the practical formula of which is continuously transformed as a result of technological progress, easier.
