Summary/Abstract: The coexistence of traditional and social media causes many interactions. It is also one of the reasons affecting the changes in the specificity of journalism. Technical, economic and legal conditions of this profession cause that the representatives of mass media negatively evaluate the direction of transformations. They are also often convinced of the decreasing prestige of the profession (nearly 60% of responses obtained within the research project). However, at the same time the consumers asses the credibility of journalists significantly higher than the credibility of authors using the social media (68% of responses), and they more often accuse social media of manipulation and dissemination of rumors (84% of responses) than institutionalized broadcasters.
