Summary/Abstract: The journalist is required to be reliable and diligent in preparing the press materials. The aim of the paper is to determine the activities that should be undertaken by the journalists to meet the standards provided by applicable law. Regulations referring to the journalists’ rights as well as regulations intended to protect the rights of persons who are the subject of interest to mass media employees were analyzed. The subject of the techniques that are used by the entities interested in initiating or suppressing press criticism to impact media representatives is also undertaken.
