Summary/Abstract: This article endeavors to present selected aspects of eco-innovation as it relates to sustainable business development. Source material for the examination is data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (CSOP) and literature pertaining to the area of study. Statistical analysis is used as the research tool. Poland is seen as one of the European Union’s least eco-innovative members i.e. over the period of 2010-2013, it is difficult to discern visible activity in this area. As such, it remains to familiarize business with the benefits of introducing innovation; for both business and environment. The most frequently mentioned environmental benefit received by industry through eco-investment in 2012-2014, has been the recycling of waste, water, and goods for internal use or sale (8% of businesses). Eco-innovations, at the level of industry, can be identified as a means for enabling sustainable development.
