Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the taxonomy of football vocabulary in the Ukrainian language at the beginning of the 21st century. This includes terms of the football branch, interdisciplinary terminological units, terminologized lexical units, nomenclature, professionalisms, professional jargon. In non-professional language (in media, fiction) football terms suffer of determinologization and acquire new (often figurative) meanings.
