Summary/Abstract: This article shows moments from the pedagogical and publishing activities of Hristo Maksimov. The writer is considered as one of the founders of the Bulgarian nationality. During the period 1880–1902 he wrote poetry, prose, articles; also, he worked for several newspapers and magazines. He is author of „Учителски марш“ (Teacher’s march) which was written during the foundation of the first teachers’ organization in Bulgaria. He cooperated with Todor Vlaykov, Mihalaki Georgiev, Stilyan Chilingirov, Aleko Konstantinov, Anton Strashimirov and others.
