Summary/Abstract: In the paper I describe the nominal derivatives of the Polish verb {ktoś zamierza / ma zamiar coś zrobić / robić}, with an overall aim to contrast them semantically: a) {zamiar}, as a word for an event and for a “subjective result”, i.e. mental object (‘intent’), b) transpositional {zamierzanie} (‘intending’) and c) {zamierzenie}, also in two meanings: as an event name and an “objective result” (‘idea’, ‘plan’). Together with the verbal expression, analyzed in another paper, and with adverbial derivatives {zamierzenie} ‘indendedly’ / {niezamierzenie} ‘unintendedly’, they form the abstract concept of ‘intending’, clearly distinguished from the concept of ‘intention’.
