Summary/Abstract: International market research is characterized by the complexity (resulting from multilingualism and multiculturalism) of environment in which it is implemented, limited access (resulting from difficulties with the collection of data and their expense) to primary and secondary information, and the need to maintain equivalence at the conceptual, methodological and interpretation level. While maintaining equivalence a researcher ensures the comparability of the results of research carried out in different countries. This article attempts to indicate how to proceed in assessing equivalence of international research projects. Researchers often use research conducted on behalf of the European institutions in their research and publication work. The article formulates questions that will help a researcher to assess the equivalence of research. These are examples of research at the European Commission, which can be considered equivalent. The article also points to difficulties in maintaining full equivalence studies on an international scale.
