Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the study was the selection of A. niger strain for the biosynthesis of naringinase and the optimization of culture medium composition. A. niger KMS strain was recognised as best for the enzyme biosynthesis. A. niger KMS was grown on liquid medium with naringin as an inducer. Optimization was carried out by Box-Wilson method. The concentration of sodium nitrate, yeast extract, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, glucose and naringin was optimized. The optimal concentration of the components were: 0.78 g × 100 ml-1 NaNO3; 2 g × 100 ml-1 yeast extract; 0.157 g × 100 ml-1 KH2PO4; 0.22 g × 100 ml-1 glucose and 120 mg × 100 ml-1 naringin.
