Summary/Abstract: By this approach, the proposed study opens a complex and complete vision, but not exhaustive on: The Reflections on the current attributions of the ombudsman institutions in Romania, the EU and some member states of the European Union on the defending the rights and freedoms of the persons. The subject of the scientific endeavor will be circumscribed to the scientific analysis of its parts, as follows: 1) Preliminary considerations. 2) Advocate of the People in Romania. 3) European Ombudsman in the European Union. 4) Ombudsman in Sweden. 5) Rights defenders in France. 6) Federal mediators in Belgium. 7) Conclusions.
