Summary/Abstract: The article provides a summary of the experience the author had with Internet resources while search for editions that are of hard access remote for an historian living in provincial Russia. The emphasis is placed on the availability of domestic pre-revolutionary historiography on problems of the Russian history of the transition period from the Middle Ages to modern times (16th — the first quarter of the 18th century). The state and private electronic libraries are analyzed, the basic principles of Internet resources structure as well as search methods are revealed. The author notes certain difficulties of work with electronic libraries. The material collected is addressed both to specialists in history and to everyone interested in national history.
