Participatory budgeting implementation as conceived by strategic management applied to Polish voivodeship capital cities

Summary/Abstract: This article presents the theoretical issues with participatory budgeting concerning the essentials of local development and the concept of New Public Management. Theoretical assumptions are verified from the research conducted on participatory budgets of Polish voivodeship capital cities. They pertain to participatory budgets, the civic budget sizes and social attitudes on their formation. The research helped in determining the realistic impact of civic budgets on the processes of community participation in the financing of urban development.
