Inter-regional differentiation of economic development levels, based on districts within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the level of economic development in the various districts within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The economic level of each district has been de-termined by a synthetic index, based on the arithmetic average of normalized variables reflecting various growth factors. Due to the range of available data collected in the CSO survey, years 2008-2014 are covered in this study. The results of the analysis were used to interpret the causes of regional disparities, as well as their potential effects on further development in the Świętokrzyskie region. The identification of the counties with the lowest levels of economic development is of fundamental importance for the proper structuring of regional policy, whose main task is to reduce socio-economic inequalities between different areas.
