Summary/Abstract: The paper presents some moments of the campaigns of Tsar Samuil in Central and Southern Greece in the late 10th Century. Aattention was paid to the capture of Larissa – an important administrative and economic center. Thus, way Bulgaria controlled important roads in Greece. We present the archaeological evidence of Athens, Thebes and Corinth – centers of commerce and crafts. Greece in the late 10th century began economic upturn. According the author‘s view the battle of Spercheios (996) was a crucial for the war between Bulgaria and Byzantium.
