The capital structure of the companies listed at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Sector analysis

Summary/Abstract: The conditioning of a decision in acquiring sources of financing of enterprises is an object of a lot of analyses. The results of these tests are in turn subject to the formulation of the theory of capital structure theory. A lot of behaviours of enterprises in the forming the correct structure of capital are still not sufficiently explained. Hence, there is a need for further research in this area. The main aim of the article is to make an analysis and evaluation on the structure of the financing of the selected sectors of companies listed at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The analysis was carried out using the example of companies from the following sectors: production, construction, retail trade, wholesale trade, transport and services. The period of analysis includes the years 2012-2016. In addition, the article is examined and assessed in terms of capital-property adequacy with the use of funding rules. The research was conducted based on data from the EMIS.
