Social capital of young people − analysis of research among students

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the trust and propensity of students to social activity. Issues concerning social capital, trust and social activity are shown in the theoretical part of the article. In the empirical part the analysis of data from surveys conducted among students in Poland (Szczecin University) was made. The survey was conducted twice among the students on the first and the third year of study. During three years of study, there has been no fundamental change in the social capital among the students in the context of trust and social activity. On the basis of survey it can be assumed that there is low level of social activity in the context of creation of citizen state as well as low level of trust to both foreigners and the state.
