Summary/Abstract: In the teaching-learning process languages go through a dynamic process. From a European perspective as represented by the Common European Framework of Reference, the dialogue of cultures is meant to preserve cultural identity and linguistic pluralism. The development of complex transverse competences such as the multicultural competence is privileged due to the role it plays in the effectiveness of communication and action. In this paper I will deal with the way the dialogue of cultures discussed from a social and discursive point of view is put to work by means of the multicultural competence.
