Espace et identité à travers la métaphore d’orientation devant-derrière : cas du français et de l’arabe standard et dialectal
Space and Identity through the Front-Back Metaphor: the Case of French and Standard and Dialectal Arab

Summary/Abstract: The present article proposes a semantic and pragmatic study of the space through the concept of space as translatable concept in the everyday language by the appeal to expressions reflecting a spatial orientation. In this perspective, the analysis will be made according to the concept of the metaphors of orientation proposed by the cognitive theory. It will focus on the orientation front-behind from the study of a contrastive corpus (French and standard and dialectal Arabic) drawn from two different societies, the Tunisian society and the French one. This orientation will be handled in touch with the cultural and social anchoring which imposes the mental, cultural and social representations circulating in these societies.
