The research was directed towards the identification of key barriers for the development of the small economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research was implemented through the analysis of a number of relevant secondary data sources. The use of scientific analysis methods, synthesis, description, comparison and conclusions, enabled the authors to successfully identify the main barrier for the development of the small economy, and that is an insufficiently developed regulatory and institutional framework for the development of entrepreneurship and the small economy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
