Summary/Abstract: The book The Love of Language. On the Sources of the Linguistic Science – from Ancient Times to the Renaissance is especially dedicated to Professor Zhivko Boyadzhiev. Every chapter in the book is dedicated to a separate period in the history of language and linguistics, beginning with an introduction which outlines its characteristic features. The first chapter of the study is dedicated to the stages of the formation of the human condition. The second is dedicated to the instances of interest in the study of language during the ancient period. The chapter ends with a description of the philological achievements of the Greeks during the period of Mycenae and Homer. Chapter Three is dedicated to linguistic science in Ancient India, Greece and Rome. Chapter Four, Five, and Six are dedicated to the Middle Ages. The remarkable book ends with a chapter about the Renaissance figures in the sphere of linguistics and philology.
