Summary/Abstract: The study focuses on pointing out the modernist features that are to be found in the corpus of Alexandru Philippide’s poems. The poet devises his lyrical works in keeping with the period embracing them. His attitude towards his own writing is a modernist one, both in form and expression. Following Baudelaire’s path, Philippide borrowed the former’s authentic and unusual verbal associations.
