Summary/Abstract: The paper covers the subject of internet technologies and the virtualization of social life determining the new basics for the activity of marketing and PR departments. The author attempts to show the role of social network Facebook as an innovative tool for communication on the tourism market on the example of different types of entities such us three hotels, the city of Wroclaw and the Polish Tourist Organisation.
