Summary/Abstract: Postmodernism, as its name shows, is the literary current after modernism, and modernism, which has already been consecrated, is the generic name of the currents after romantism. Postmodernism, in historical and aesthetic social conditions appeared in America and some Western countries in the 60’s of the 20th century. In our specific conditions, postmodernism was founded in the poetry of the 80’s, from the same century, but especially through the representatives of „the School of Târgovişte”. The article aims to give an explanation of postmodernism in a simple, accessible and comprehensible manner.
