Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author draws our attention to the segment of the elderly people with regard to their behavior in the services market as well as their level of consumer rights awareness. This problem has been presented and examined on the basis of the author's own research. The study was conducted in December 2011 on a representative sample of adult Poles aged 24–65 in cities with a population of 100 thousand and above. The results indicate a low level of consumer awareness among the elderly people, which indicates the need to improve education in this particular sector.
